In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Neuro-Rehabilitation experts at Barrow Neurological Institute continue to provide the best care for patients recovering from brain and spine injuries.
Inpatient services are functioning at 100 percent capacity, but unfortunately visitors cannot come in person to lift the patients’ spirits. That’s where the compassionate caregivers at Barrow step in, keeping patients company and helping them with day-to-day tasks.
“We just want them to know we are here for them,” explains Luann Williams, manager of Barrow Neuro-Rehab Therapies. The team uses The Medical Memory, an app created by Barrow neurosurgeon Randall Porter, MD, to keep hospital-bound patients connected to their loved ones. Watch an interview of Dr. Porter from ABC15 about the app here.
Our therapists are conducting outpatient telemedicine appointments whenever possible to abide by social distancing policies and keep patients and staff safe. If you are a patient with questions about rehab, please use the patient portal or call your doctor.
To help you stay healthy as you stay home through the COVID-19 crisis, our expert therapists have curated a list of apps for relaxation, nutrition, safety, health, and medication that you can use today.
Thank you for staying home and staying safe!
